Declaration of architectural accessibility of the general technical building of Bialystok University of Technology

The facility consists of 3 parts; Building A (4 floors connected by an elevator), Building B (2 floors – administrative and technical rooms and laboratories of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences at the low ground floor level), Building C (one floor; teaching rooms and office rooms + basements) – technical rooms in the basement/low ground floor level).
Parking places for people with disabilities are designated:
- 2 parking places on the front side of the facility (Building A), first: 4.5 m x 4.2 m, second: 4.6 m x 4.4 m from the entrance equipped with a ramp;
- 2 parking places behind the facility (Building C), 5.0 m x 3.7 m and 5.0 m x 3.6 m from the entrance equipped with a ramp.
The ramps for wheelchair users are located:
- to building A: on the level of the high ground floor, the front of the building;
- to building A: on the low ground floor, the front of the building, (closed after 15.45 – opened by the porter ( if informed by phone, which is indicated on the entrance door);
- to building C at the back of the facility, closed after 17.00 – opened by the porter (if informed by phone, which is indicated on the entrance door).
The stairs at the entrances from the front of the building at the level of the high ground floor are equipped with handrails on both sides.
Automatically opening doors are located: in part A of the building – entrance to the high ground floor from the pergola, in part C of the building.
Inside the building there are:
- toilets for people with disabilities are located in building B at the level of the low ground floor and at the level of the high ground floor; in building C at the level of the high ground floor (women’s toilet),
- the elevator at all levels of building A, equipped with automatically opening doors, voice messages and buttons in the Braille alphabet,
Stairs in part A by the elevator equipped with handrails on both sides, other staircases in the building are not equipped with handrails on both sides.
Chairs for the evacuation of people with disabilities are located on floors 1 and 2 in building A.
You can enter the facility with an assistance dog.
Facility maps are available in the Zonifero application.
The university provides access to the Migam sign language interpreter service (in Polish), the service is active from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 8 pm.
The following teaching rooms are equipped with inductophone loops: lecture hall 23C, lecture hall 12B, teaching room 116A, teaching room 6B, teaching room 29C.
Stationary inductophone loops are installed in: the dean’s office, room 121; the secretary office of the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, room 35A; Office for Persons with Disabilities, room 39C.
Room markings in braille were placed above the room handles.

Gatehouse 85 746-91-92, 797-994-897. The gatehouse connected to the cloakroom is located in building A on the high ground floor.
The facility is undergoing thermal modernization works (contract concluded on 21.05.2021) and investments increasing accessibility:
additional parking places, construction of additional ramps and modernization of existing ones.
The University’s facilities are not equipped with information systems for people with sensory disabilities, including guidance lines and attention fields, sound information systems.
