01-12-2021
Time for Poland! The organisation of such a prestigious event as the UN Internet Governance Forum – IGF 2021 is a great honour for our country. The forum, organised since 2006, has previously been held in Germany, France, Switzerland, Mexico, Brazil, Turkey, Indonesia, Azerbaijan, Kenya, Egypt, India, Greece and Lithuania. This time ministers and heads of international organisations, representatives of business, including the largest and best-known Internet companies from various continents, NGO activists and academics, theoreticians and practitioners will meet in Katowice.
IGF is an international initiative aimed at a global discussion on the development of the Internet. This meeting is an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences in the field of Internet governance. It is where global topics and best practices related to the digital space will be discussed. Everyone has the right to speak at the forum, especially young people, whom we particularly encourage to participate.
One of the events accompanying the meeting will be the Youth IGF Summit. During the Summit a special youth discussions and numerous attractions are planned. Additional meetings are also planned – on 10th-12th December the IGF After Party will take place – a weekend full of innovative discussions and interesting activities for young programmers from around the world.
The event will be held from 6-10 December 2021 at the International Congress Centre in Katowice – on-site and online. Participation is free, only registration is required: https://www.gov.pl/web/igf2021
