Formula Student competition underway. Successes of CMS-08 and the Cerber Motorsport team

First there were successes in Italy, then in the Czech Republic and Austria. Competitions in Hungary and on the track in Germany are ahead. The CMS-08 car and the Cerber Motorsport team from the Bialystok University of Technology’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering are taking part in the Formula Student series of competitions. They came back to Białystok for a few days and here they are preparing for their next starts.
On 8 July, Bialystok University of Technology presented the new Formula Student class car – CMS-08 of the Cerber Motorsport team, and already on 13 July the team competed in the first Formula Student competition.
In the 2022 season, the team of students from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Bialystok University of Technology will compete in 5 series of competitions:
- Formula SAE Italy,
- Formula Student Czech Republic,
- Formula Studetn Austria,
- Formula Student EAST,
- Formula Student Germany.
At the Formula SAE Italy, the CMS-08 car took 2nd place in the Engineering Design Event competition, 4th place in Acceleration Event and Autocross Event, 5th place in the static competition: Cost&Manufacturing Event and dynamic: Endurance&Efficiency Event, as well as 6th place in Skipad Event and 22nd in Business Presentation Event. All these achievements placed Bialystok University of Technology in fifth place in the general qualification of the Formula SAE Italy!
– There was a lot going on right from the first day. And we feel strongest in racing on the track – Michal Gleba, team coordinator of Cerber Motorsport, recalls the competition in Italy.
Cerber Motorsport’s performance at the Formula Student Czech Republic was a great success. The team from Bialystok University of Technology won 1st place in Acceleration and 3rd place in Endurance.
– There, we managed to place in the top ten and five in several competitions. There was also our first win – in Acceleration – says Patryk Siekaniec, technical coordinator of the Cerber Motorsport team, and assesses the competition in the Czech Republic as successful.
There was no shortage of success in Austria either. – We did it! We took 6th place in the general classification and 5th place in Endurance, i.e. the most important, highest-scoring one. We are very pleased with the results – admits Michał Gleba.
In his opinion the car performs excellently, is reliable and has great potential to fight for places on the podium: – We now want to improve it to achieve even more at the next competitions – says Michał Gleba.
– And the next competition is Formula Student EAST in Hungary and then Formula Student Germany – Patryk Siekaniec enumerates. The team leaves already on Saturday, 6 July. – Until then, we are planning to test the car here at the Bialystok racing track, we want to change a few things, improve a few things – reveals the coordinators of the Cerber Motorsport team.
And they announce: – We are finishing on 21 August, that’s the last day of the competition, we will be in Poland on 22-23 August..
