Bialystok University of technology in the Scimago Institutions Rankings 2022

In the latest edition of the Scimago Institutions Rankings, published in April 2022, Bialystok University of Technology was ranked 498th among the best universities in the world, thus moving up 54 places.
We were also ranked 90 places higher among all ranked institutions in the world.

In the Scimago Institutions Rankings 2022, 4364 universities from all over the world were ranked. Bialystok University of Technology has risen from 552nd place to 498th.
A great success of our University is taking the 2nd place among 30 classified Polish universities in the category of mechanical engineering. In the ranking of world universities, Bialystok University of Technology was classified in this category on 285 place among 2255 universities.

The SCImago Institutions Ranking (SIR) is a bibliometric-based ranking of universities, academic institutions and private companies involved in research. The data on which institutions are evaluated in the SIR comes primarily from the Scopus database.
The ranking compares institutions in three distinct areas: research output (50%), innovation (30%) and social impact as measured by the institution’s online visibility (20%).
The results of Bialystok University of Technology in particular areas are presented in the charts below. It should be emphasised that Bialystok University of Technology recorded significant growth in the area of innovation, moving from 518th to 422nd place among 8084 global institutions.
The Research Rank refers to the quantity, impact and quality of research outputs produced by the institution.
The Innovation Rank is calculated based on the number of patent applications filed by an institution and the number of citations of its research results in patents.
The Societal Rank is based on the number of websites of the institution and the number of backlinks and mentions in social networks.
