The Rector of Bialystok University of Technology, Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng., took part in a milestone meeting of the ACROSS Rectors’ Council, held on 24–25 September 2025 in Nova Gorica, Slovenia.
During the meeting, the Consortium Agreement was signed – a key document defining the framework for governance and cooperation within the European University ACROSS.

This confirms the shared will of nine universities to establish the European University ACROSS and to take action in all areas of university operations in order to further develop the European Higher Education Area – the Rector of BUT emphasised.

The meeting in Nova Gorica coincided with the 30th anniversary of the local university, located in the European Capital of Culture 2025. – It is a very dynamic institution, yet deeply rooted in local traditions and its cross-border location. Like Podlasie, it is a multicultural region, which was particularly interesting to us – added Prof. Kosior-Kazberuk.

As part of the visit, the rectors also visited the University of Udine (Italy). – We visited workshops and laboratories related to new media – a highly future-oriented study programme. The Italian hosts presented interesting solutions and technologies used by students and doctoral candidates. A nationwide project aimed at raising educational standards across Italy, financed from state funds, was also presented – reported the Rector of BUT.

The signing of the Consortium Agreement marks an important step for ACROSS and for Bialystok University of Technology. Thanks to this document, it will be possible to further enhance joint educational and research initiatives and strengthen the universities’ role in the international academic arena.
