Report from the International Conference on Resilient and Sustainable Economies 2024

This year’s International Scientific Conference on “Resilient and Sustainable Economies” brought together 102 participants from 30 academic institutions, both domestic and international. The event facilitated in-depth discussions on the impact of crisis phenomena on the direction, policy, and practice of sustainable development. According to the Polish Constitution, sustainable development also encompasses the respect and protection of the environment.
 

From 25 to 28 September, the “Kresovia” Centre in Giby hosted 3 plenary sessions and 9 panel sessions, as well as accompanying events that allowed participants to explore the natural and cultural richness of the region. A total of 79 papers were presented, and their abstracts are available on the conference website.

The conference’s scientific committee included professors from Polish universities, while the organising committee comprised specialists from Poland, as well as researchers from Turkey and Lithuania. From Bialystok University of Technology, the organising committee included: assoc. prof. Elżbieta Broniewicz, DSc, PhD, Eng, assoc. prof. Mirosław Broniewicz, DSc, PhD, Eng, Karolina Ogrodnik, PhD, Eng, Karolina Dec, MSc from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences, and Joanna Godlewska, PhD, Eng, and Paulina Grabowska, MSc from the Faculty of Engineering Management.

The event was co-organised by Bialystok University of Technology, Polish Association of Environmental and Resource Economists, the University of Bialystok, the University of Life Sciences in Poznań, Opole University of Technology, WSB Merito University in Poznań, the Foundation of Environmental and Resource Economists in Bialystok, as well as Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University in Turkey and Vytautas Magnus University in Lithuania.

The International Scientific Conference on “Resilient and Sustainable Economies 2024” was held under the patronage of the Rector of Bialystok University of Technology, along with the Rectors of the University of Bialystok, Opole University of Technology, WSB Merito University in Poznań, and the University of Life Sciences in Poznań.
