Assoc. Prof. Agnieszka Dardzińska-Głębocka, DSc, PhD, Vice-Rector for Education at Bialystok University of Technology, has once again become a member of the Polish Accreditation Committee – an institution that works to ensure and improve the quality of education.

She received the act of nomination for the 2024-2027 term from the Minister of Science.

– This is a great distinction not only for me, but first and foremost for Bialystok University of Technology, which can mark its presence in key higher education bodies and state authorities. This certainly adds prestige to our university and increases its recognition in the national arena, – said Agnieszka Dardzińska-Głębocka, Vice-Rector for Education at Bialystok University of Technology, after receiving the important distinction, adding that when it comes to the field of education, our university certainly represents the highest educational standards.

The nomination was presented during a plenary meeting of the Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) attended by the Minister of Science – Dariusz Wieczorek, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education – Dr Maria Mrówczyńska, the management of the Department of University Organisation, Education and Student Affairs in the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, as well as members of the PKA Advisory Council and representatives of PKA experts for students and employers. During the meeting, nomination acts were handed out to nearly 100 members of the Polish Accreditation Committee appointed for the 2024-2027 term.

Assoc. Prof. Agnieszka Dardzińska-Głębocka, DSc, PhD will work in the science team. It is worth noting that this is not the first time she has been nominated as a PKA expert. Her commitment and work have been recognised and resulted in her appointment to the Committee in previous terms – for eight years she served as an expert in the engineering sciences team.

The newly established teams are tasked with enhancing the quality and efficiency of education, developing intellectual capital, and building civil society. What other challenges still await PKA experts?

– Polish higher education requires remedial action in various aspects, also when it comes to rebuilding the image of the Polish Accreditation Committee. Already the first discussions at the general plenary meeting have highlighted the problems faced by higher education institutions. Together with PKA members, we will think about how to modernise the process of verification and assessment of fields of study and the universities where these fields of study are taught, – explained Professor Dardzińska-Głębocka.

PKA’s activities are aimed at ensuring that graduates of Polish higher education institutions enjoy a high position on the national and international labour market, as well as at increasing the competitiveness of Polish universities as European institutions. The presence of our expert in the Committee will translate into benefits for both young people and Bialystok University of Technology.

– We are an advisory body to the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in terms of the quality of education at universities. I hope that my experience will be mutually beneficial to both the Polish Accreditation Committee and Bialystok University of Technology. I have the pleasure of visiting various universities in Poland and observing good practices that we can successfully implement at our university, – argued Assoc. Prof. Agnieszka Dardzińska-Głębocka, DSc, PhD.

Congratulations on the nomination. We look forward to seeing the results of work of the teams of the Polish Accreditation Committee!
