Bialystok University of Technology ranked in the QS World University: Sustainability 2024

Bialystok University of Technology has applied for the QS World University Sustainability ranking for the first time in its history.
It ranks almost 1,400 universities from 95 countries in terms of sustainability.
We scored highest in the Governance category, ranking 11th in Poland and 886th in the world.
The QS World University Sustainability 2024 Ranking included 1397 institutions from 95 countries, including 435 European ones. Bialystok University of Technology was ranked 15th in Poland and 1201+ in the world.
It should be noted that our university achieved a high ranking of 11th in Poland and 886th in the world in the Governance category. This achievement confirms Bialystok University of Technology authorities’ commitment to implementing best practices in ethics, recruitment procedures, transparency in decision-making and taking into account the voice of student organisations.
QS World University Sustainability assesses universities on their social impact, environmental impact and governance. The ranking provides a unique and detailed framework for assessing how universities are taking action to address the most pressing global challenges.
The QS World University Sustainability 2024 methodology is based on three categories:
- Environmental Impact aggregating three indicators: environmental sustainability, environmental education and environmental research;
- Social Impact aggregating five indicators: equality, knowledge exchange, impact of education, employability&opportunities and health&wellbeing;
- Governance taking into account factors related to good governance: ethics, hiring practices, transparency, decision-making.
The ranks of Bialystok University of Technology in each criterion are shown below.
The world leaders in this year’s ranking were the University of Toronto, the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Manchester. In Poland, Warsaw University, Jagiellonian University and Gdansk University of Technology led the way.
