Researchers from Bialystok University of Technology again in the TOP 2% of the world’s best scientists!

Researchers from Bialystok University of Technology have once again been included in the prestigious group of the 2% most influential in the world. Ten scientists of Bialystok University of Technology were included in the list.

 

The Top 2% Most Influential Researchers list is compiled by Stanford University in collaboration with Elsevier publishing and SciTech Strategies. Researchers from around the world are included in the list. It is made on the basis of their scientific output, and evaluation criteria include the number of citations by other authors, the Hirsch index or the position and role of the researcher in the list of published authors.

Stanford University prepares two types of ranking. The first takes into account an assessment of the entire scientific career (until the end of 2022), while the second relates to scientific achievements in a given calendar year, in this case 2022. A total of 10 researchers from Bialystok University of Technology were included in both lists.

The ranking assessing the entire career achievements of a scientist, up to and including 2022, included six scientists of Bialystok University of Technology (names ranked according to the position occupied on the TOP 2% list):

Seven scientists from Bialystok University of Technology were included in the ranking assessing the achievements of 2022 alone (names ranked according to position occupied in the TOP 2% list):

The data for the ranking is based on the Scopus database. Both lists included 1,651 researchers from Poland, among them 31 from the Podlaskie region: 14 from the Medical University of Bialystok, 10 from Bialystok University of Technology, 6 from the University of Bialystok, and 1 from the University of Lomza (the former PWSIiP in Lomza). Poland ranks 24th out of 169 countries in terms of the number of researchers.
