Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, Rector of Bialystok University of Technology, received the title of Polish Hercules 2022 of “Builder Polska”

– The Polish Hercules award is a token of appreciation of the environment – the construction industry for its activities for the development of Bialystok University of Technology, – says Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, Rector of Bialystok University of Technology. – The environment appreciated the university’s growing potential, recognition and the rector’s personal participation in building the image and brand of Bialystok University of Technology. The award has its own history and reputation. It has been awarded for more than 20 years. However, only one person from the world of science receives it in each edition.

“In recognition of personal success, authority and position in the academic community associated with the construction industry. In particular, for a lifetime of outstanding scientific, teaching, creative and expert activity in the field of civil engineering, as well as for exceptional activity and great commitment to the development of the university” – wrote Prof. Andrzej Garbacz, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Warsaw University of Technology, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Building Research Institute, Vice Chairman of the Programme Council of “Builder Polska”, Danuta Burzyńska, Editor-in-Chief of “Builder Polska”, Prof. Jerzy Hoła from Wroclaw University of Technology, Member of the Committee of Civil Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Vice-Chairman of the Scientific Council of “Builder Polska”. Marek Zdziebłowski, President of the Management Board of Builder Corp, Publisher of “Builder Polska”.

The Rector of Bialystok University of Technology was awarded the title and statuette of Polish Hercules 2022 on 16 March 2023 at the Builder Awards Gala.

This is an annual ceremony that brings together companies and people from the construction sector. During this event, awards are presented to undisputed industry leaders and top managers from among representatives of all participants in the investment process: public investors, private investors, developers, architects and designers, contractors, manufacturers, as well as companies and organizations supporting the industry and working for the benefit of the Polish construction industry, science and education.

The title and the Polish Hercules statuette are awarded by the Editorial Board and the Scientific Council of “Builder Polska” to outstanding figures and recognized authorities in business, the construction industry, architecture and science, people who have had a significant impact on the development of the Polish construction industry with their activities to date.

The Polish Hercules statue was designed by sculptor Tadeusz Tchórzewski, and made by sculptor Rafał Cywiński. The figure of the man is cast in bronze, polished and chromed. The rock block, which has the form of a pillar with a rectangular base, is made of black gabbro. The height of the statue is 32 cm, the weight – nearly 7 kg.
