Conference “Foreign students in Poland” in Bialystok
10-02-2023
– Technical sciences are developing equally in various universities all over the world, and they develop even better thanks to international cooperation – says Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, Rector of Bialystok University of Technology. – Education is incredibly important, as we educate engineers, i.e. technical staff that are needed in every country. An engineer has no problem finding a job in another country, his or her skills are needed everywhere.
Poland has a very attractive educational offer and the prospects for foreign students, doctoral students and young researchers are very broad here.
– We are in the heart of Europe, we are a very naturally beautiful country – says Bianka Siwińska, PhD, President of the Perspektywy Education Foundation. – At the same time, our cost of living is slightly lower than in other European countries. Besides, our academic offer is very diverse, very good, and we also have our specialisations.
A challenge to the internationalisation of Polish universities is the Russian aggression against Ukraine. The Rector of the Medical University of Bialystok, Professor Adam Krętowski, believes that the topic is multi-faceted and important.
– One of the foundations of our development is internationalisation, cooperation abroad. We cooperate with this modern and modernist west, but we are also close to the eastern border. On the one hand, we have the tragedy in Ukraine. Students from Ukraine come to us and we try to help them. We also have the border with Belarus next door. We know what is happening there and we also try to help young people from Belarus. – emphasises Prof. Adam Krętowski.
The event is organised jointly as part of the ‘Study in Poland’ programme by the Perspktywy Education Foundation, the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland and the Medical University of Białystok.
