Nearly PLN 900 000! Grant from the National Science Centre
08-12-2022
The National Science Centre has awarded funding in the amount of PLN 899,140 in the OPUS 23 competition for a research project entitled: “Analysis and synthesis of control systems using incomplete-order switching systems.”
The project was developed by a group of researchers from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and the Faculty of Computer Science of Bialystok University of Technology under the supervision of Prof. Tadeusz Kaczorek, DSc, PhD, Eng, a project manager.
The essence of the project is the combination of incomplete-order calculus and switchable systems. This is a new direction of research in control theory, which has not been analysed comprehensively so far. Within the framework of the grant, theoretical research using computer calculations will be carried out, including simulation studies and experimental verification of the developed methods.
The considered class of systems is interesting especially from the point of view of control system synthesis, where the dynamic behaviour of the controller depends on the switching function. This idea directly reveals new possibilities in the design process of controllers, where the parameters of an incomplete-order controller can be changed during the process depending on the state of the system. The analytical and numerical methods proposed in the project are fundamental to the development of research in the field of linear and nonlinear non-infinite-order switching systems. The project will contribute to the development of research methodology and to the analysis and synthesis of selected classes of linear and nonlinear non-integral-order switching systems.
The grant will be carried out by five employees of the Department of Automatic Control and Robotics of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Bialystok University of Technology and two employees of the Faculty of Computer Science of Bialystok University of Technology.
Congratulations!
