The Polish Accreditation Committee (PKA) is an independent institution working to ensure and improve the quality of education. Improving the quality of education is an area very close to my heart, in which I am actively involved, not only as Vice-Rector for Education at Bialystok University of Technology. For nearly 10 years I have also been an expert of the Polish Accreditation Committee in the team of engineering sciences. Activities promoting the quality of education, including the improvement of teaching methods and the introduction of new forms of education, have been the focus of my close interest for many years. As a PKA expert, I have had the pleasure of participating in many visits to higher education institutions. I am glad that my commitment and work has been appreciated and resulted in my appointment as a member of PKA. – says Assoc. Prof. Agnieszka Dardzińska-Głębocka, DSc, PhD.

The Polish Accreditation Committee is composed of up to 100 members appointed by the minister responsible for education from among candidates holding at least the academic degree of doktor, nominated by HEIs, the General Council for Science and Higher Education, the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland, the Conference of Rectors of Public Vocational Universities, the Conference of Rectors of Vocational Schools in Poland, the Presidium of the Polish Accreditation Committee, the Students’ Parliament of the Republic of Poland (the President of the Students’ Parliament is a member of the PKA by law), national academic associations and employers’ organisations. This is a tenure, Assoc. Prof. Agnieszka Dardzińska-Głębocka, DSc, PhD, has been appointed for the ongoing term of 2020-2023. She will participate in the work of the science and natural sciences team.

I hope that, as a member of PKA, I will be able to use my long-standing experience, as well as my personal interests, to improve the quality of the visits to which the faculties at the country’s universities are subjected. I would like them to be conducted even more professionally and to meet the needs reported by universities. I am also convinced that my new function will allow us to better fulfil our university’s priority, which is to educate students at the highest possible level. – stresses Assoc. Prof. Agnieszka Dardzińska-Głębocka, DSc, PhD.
