The visit resulted in an agreement that will allow the continuation of already existing good contacts between our universities and will open the way for further cooperation. On behalf of the authorities of the Bialystok University of Technology, the document was signed by Assoc. Prof. Mirosław Świercz, DSc, PhD, Eng., vice-rector for development.
Ms. Natalia Imbirovych, PhD, and Mr. Oleksandr Povstyanoy, PhD, from the Department of Mechanics at Lutsk National Technical University spoke highly of the potential of the BUT’s Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and were impressed by the laboratories and research equipment.
– Here we see great potential and many opportunities for joint research as well as teaching projects. That means not only cooperation between scientists, but also students. That’s why we talked, first of all, about the prospects of joint application in international programs supporting the development of science, academic mobility, qualifications of teaching staff, i.e. Erasmus+, COST, Horizon Europe. We also hope to exchange ideas pertaining to modern material processing, automation and robotics, mechatronics, said Ms. Imbirovych.
– Despite the difficult situation in which our university and country find themselves, we hope such cooperation is still possible and will soon happen. During our visit to Bialystok we became convinced that we have friendly partners here to implement such projects, added Mr. Povstyanoy.
Bialystok Technical University and Lutsk National Technical University concluded their first cooperation agreement back in 2005. Since then, a number of joint scientific projects have been conducted at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
– Despite the situation in Ukraine we decided to approach our cooperation more actively. I invited representatives of the Lutsk University to visit the faculty, and I am glad that they came to us with ready ideas for expanding our cooperation. Among other things, we talked about joint degrees and research projects. We would like to help them, but we also hope that there will be European funds to support Ukraine in the near future. So we treat today’s meeting as an investment in future cooperation, said Prof. Krzysztof Jan Kurzydłowski, Director of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Bialystok University of Technology.
After meeting with the Vice-Rector for Development of Bialystok University of Technology, Prof. Mirosław Świercz, the delegates of Lutsk National Technical University also visited the Faculty of Management Engineering of Bialystok University of Technology.
