Bialystok University of Technology – beneficiary of the “Didactic Excellence of Universities ” project

Bialystok University of Technology will receive funding of PLN 918,498 to support organisational changes and improve staff competence. The money was awarded by the Minister of Science and Higher Education for the ‘Didactic excellence of universities’ project from the funds of the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development co-financed from the European Social Fund.

 
Our university is on the list of projects recommended for funding, announced by the Ministry on 8 July this year. The Minister of Science and Higher Education approved 52 projects for funding totalling PLN 34 392 392.01 within Measure 3.4 Management in higher education institutions. In terms of the amount of support awarded, Bialystok University of Technology is ranked 6th among beneficiaries and 2nd in the category of technical universities.

The project is aimed at improving the institutional capacity of the university and the didactic competences of the university staff in order to improve the quality of education. At Bialystok University of Technology the implementation of the project will contribute to professionalizing and improving the quality of education by developing practical teaching skills and promoting a scientific approach to teaching.

– Our aim is to further improve the quality of education, taking into account an interdisciplinary approach, individualisation, improving teaching methods and streamlining the organisation of didactics. In practice, we will continue to support the development of research and teaching staff, maintain systems of support for didactic innovation, continue support for the design of teaching materials, create a foreigner-friendly university, and continue psychological support for students and university staff – says the Vice-Rector for Education of Bialystok University of Technology, Assoc. Prof. Agnieszka Dardzińska-Głębocka, DSc, PhD, Eng.

– We want to improve the system of development of didactic competences of academic teachers, including, among others, the use of ICT tools, application of methods of teaching and learning through discovery, communicative competences, competences of working with people with diversified educational needs. Our academic staff will be even better prepared for the teaching process, including working with students with special educational needs – adds Assoc.
