Board Meeting of the Confucius Institute and Affiliated Confucius Classrooms

Bialystok University of Technology took part in the second conference organized by Beijing University of Technology on the development of Confucius Institute in Opole and Affiliated Confucius Classes.

The conference, held on 7 April 2022, online was attended by the rectors and vice-rectors of the universities: Beijing University of Technology, Opole University of Technology, Bialystok University of Technology, Silesian University of Technology and the University of Silesia, as well as the directors of the Confucius Institute in Opole and affiliated Confucius Classes.

The conference was opened with warm words of welcome by the Rector of Opole University of Technology, Prof. Marcin Lorenc. The rectors, including Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, the Rector of Bialystok University of Technology, presented the activities of the Institute and Confucius Classes at their home universities over the past year. It was a very important exchange of experience and ideas for future undertakings.

The next part of the conference was devoted to illustrating current problems and suggestions for change in view of the transformation of the Hanban Confucius Institute headquarters into an educational foundation, “The Chinese International Education Foundation”. Thanks to the support of the Foundation, Beijing University of Technology can implement the development programmes of the Confucius Institute in Opole and the affiliated three Confucius Classrooms.

During his speech, the Rector of Beijing University of Technology, Prof. Nie Zuoren assured the support of the Chinese University in the further development of the Confucius Institute and the Confucius Classrooms, the readiness to jointly take on new challenges, and the deepening of friendly bilateral relations to achieve common goals. Prof. Nie Zuoren also expressed his gratitude to the rectors of the Polish universities for their efforts and support in implementing tasks related to promotion of the Chinese language and culture at their universities.
