Podlasie Festival of Science and Arts – a week for imagination

The festival is addressed to all residents of our region and tourists. Age, gender and education of the participant do not count. In the wide-ranging programme of the event you will find activities for school children and students, as well as preschoolers and the elderly. What counts is curiosity about the world and imagination! As the Festival’s slogan and Albert Einstein’s quotation emphasises, it will take you everywhere.

This year’s, eighteenth edition of the Podlasie Festival of Science and Arts will begin on 7 May (Saturday) and will last until 13 May (Friday). Festival events will be held in Białystok, Łomża and Suwałki. The audience will have a chance to participate in various events: shows, lectures, workshops, presentations, concerts and performances. There will also be an opportunity to get to know from behind the scenes places that are normally inaccessible – scientific laboratories and workshops of scientists and artists. The biggest event of the Festival, the Family Science Picnic, will be held on Sunday, 8 May at the Municipal Stadium in Bialystok.
A full list of events is now available on the website of the Podlasie Festival of Science and Arts.

On 10 May Bialystok University of Technology invites you to the festival events.

Bialystok University of Technology is one of the initiators of the event and actively co-creates all editions of the Podlasie Festival of Science and Arts. This year, we are also preparing a number of attractions, which bring closer the scientific research conducted at our university, show the usefulness of technical sciences in everyday life, ignite curiosity about the world and the desire to develop science with us.

Festival events will take place at all our faculties and other units: BUT Library, Foreign Language Centre, Academic Sports Centre, Archieve and Centre for History, International Relations Office, BUT Confucius Classroom, BUT Secondary School, Radio Akadera. This is all on 10 May, but it is also worth visiting the exhibition stands of Bialystok University of Technology on 8 May, during the Family Science Picnic at the Municipal Stadium in Bialystok.

Our employees and students have been involved in the preparation of the Festival events. The range of activities is vast: lectures, discussions, workshops, laboratory tests, presentations, exhibitions, competitions, performances, excursions, field activities, sightseeing trips, concerts, outdoor events and many more. What is important and valuable, with us the audience is not a passive spectator. We involve the participants in a joint game of discovering scientific curiosities.

All kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, students, whole families and everyone interested are invited!
