Bialystok University of Technology in ACROSS consortium
08-03-2022– The European University will enable free movement of students and staff between ten universities located in border areas, responding to the challenges and needs of our regions, as well as enabling further internationalisation of the Białystok University of Technology – said Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, Rector of the Białystok University of Technology.
The universities which are part of the consortium are: Chemnitz University of Technology (Germany) as the leader, University of Perpignan (France), Université of Girona (Spain), University of Lleida (Spain), University of Ruse (Bulgaria), University of Craiova (Romania), Rezeknes Academy of Technology (Latvia), University of Nova Gorica (Slovenia), University of Udine (Italy) and Białystok University of Technology (Poland).
– Although the ACROSS “European Cross Border University” consortium was oficially founded on 7 March 2022, work on its establishment and the formulation of the proposal has been in progress for many months. Joining forces of 10 universities from different European countries has resulted in the exchange of experiences, which will translate into internationalisation and modernisation of students’ and doctoral students’ education in the spirit of sustainable development, as well as improvement of the competences of academic staff – emphasised Dorota Anna Krawczyk, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at BUT.
ACROSS aims to develop the foundations of a unique, European university, including principles of university operation and new educational programmes in the formula of double and joint degrees carried out in English. It will also enable the implementation of modern, effective methods of education in close cooperation with the socio-economic environment of individual regions.
The consortium is currently preparing a project proposal in the call announced by the European Commission within the Erasmus+ programme (“ERASMUS-EDU-2022-EUR-UNIV”). The deadline for submission of the proposal is 22 March 2022. The maximum value of funding is €14.4 million.
