Wioletta Czemiel-Grzybowska, PhD, plenipotentiary for social responsibility of Bialystok University of Technology

The special role of the university, as a place for creating and transferring knowledge about the surrounding reality, obliges to take into account and apply the principles of social responsibility in all areas of activity and to promote these principles among stakeholders. Bialystok University of Technology signed the “Declaration of Social Responsibility of the University” on 17 September 2019.
– As a plenipotentiary for the University’s social responsibility, I will take measures to fulfil the aspirations of Bialystok University of Technology to improve its development system while meeting the highest management standards applied by leading international academic centres – says Wioletta Czemiel-Grzybowska, PhD. – Therefore, I will initiate active cooperation with the stakeholders of Bialystok University of Technology aimed at systematizing as well as establishing new relations, which influence the creation of added value both for our University and the stakeholders. One of the tasks will be to build broad public awareness of the role of the university in creating conditions for sustainable socio-economic development of the country. Remembering that the university is a place of creating and transferring knowledge, but also the resulting need to nurture academic values and shape the social and civic attitudes of future elites, including social sensitivity and work culture. It is also a task to promote the ideas of equality, diversity, tolerance and respect for human rights among the whole academic community of Bialystok University of Technology and its surroundings.

Wioletta Czemiel-Grzybowska, PhD wants to activate the BUT community to jointly prepare, develop and agree on the Bialystok University of Technology Social Responsibility Programme in cooperation with the university authorities, student and PhD student self-governments, its faculties, social organisations of Bialystok University of Technology.
