Students affiliated with the team BUT Rover Team from the Student Scientific Association of Robotics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Białystok University of Technology achieved two podium places during the international MRC & RobotChallenge Thailand 2026 competition, which took place on 22–24 May 2026 in Thailand.
The students’ autonomous constructions competed in the Combat Robotics category.
The team consisted of: Daniel Aleksiejczuk – chief designer, Jakub Pigiel, Karolina Baluta, Marek Lipski, Mateusz Dziczek, Maria Czarniecka.
Substantive supervision over the team was provided by Assoc. Prof. Kazimierz Dzierżek, DSc, PhD, Eng. from the Department of Dynamic Systems at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Białystok University of Technology.
1st and 3rd place in the Combat Robotics category confirm a high level of technical preparation, innovativeness, and effective teamwork.
– This success is the result of many months of intensive design work, numerous tests, and the refinement of constructional and mechanical solutions – emphasizes Karolina Baluta.
The international MRC & RobotChallenge Thailand 2026 competition brought together participants from many countries, becoming a space for exchanging experience, presenting modern technological solutions, and practical verification of students’ engineering competencies. For members of PB Rover Team, participation in the event was not only an opportunity to compete, but also a valuable project experience and a chance to promote the university’s scientific and technical potential on the international stage.
Participation in the competition was funded by the project “Development of student competencies in mobile robotics through participation in international competitions and conferences” under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education programme “Support for students in improving their competencies and skills”.
