The Memorandum of Understanding with Beijing University of Technology, recently signed by the Rector of Bialystok University of Technology, establishes a framework for the exchange of academic staff and students, focusing on civil engineering, environmental management, intelligent manufacturing, integrated circuits and other fields of modern technology.
– We exchanged in-depth views on joint training programmes and cultural exchange, and signed a memorandum of understanding on inter-university cooperation, – says Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc., PhD, Eng., Rector of Bialystok University of Technology. On behalf of the Chinese university, the agreement was signed by Qiau Junfei, President of Beijing University of Technology.
Following the signing of the agreement, the delegation of Bialystok University of Technology visited the Institute of Information Science and Technology to see the Beijing Laboratory of Intelligent Environmental Protection and learn about the latest technologies and the university’s research platform in the fields of water environment protection, air pollution control and solid waste treatment. The Rector of Bialystok University of Technology, together with Prof. Katarzyna Zabielska-Adamska from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences and Assoc. Prof. Bogusław Butryło, DSc., PhD, Eng., Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, visited the Intelligent Manufacturing Research and Teaching Centre at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Energy at BJUT, an experimental platform related to advanced manufacturing and new energy equipment. They also exchanged experience with academic staff on the development of intelligent manufacturing disciplines and equipment automation. The academics from Bialystok also visited the Engineering Structures Laboratory Centre and the Underground Structures Laboratory at the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering of the university.
Another cooperation agreement was signed by Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc., PhD, Eng., Rector of Bialystok University of Technology, with Tianjin Sino-German University of Applied Sciences, represented by Zhang Dayang, President of the university.
Representatives of Bialystok University of Technology shared their knowledge with students and staff of Tianjin Chengjian University. They delivered the following lectures:
- Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc., PhD, Eng.: ‘Why becoming an engineer is worthwhile?’
- Prof. Katarzyna Zabielska-Adamska: ‘Mechanical characteristics of coarse soil improved by fibre and cement additions’
- Assoc. Prof. Bogusław Butryło, DSc., PhD, Eng.: ‘Dispersive dielectrics and broadband analysis of electromagnetic fields in systems with complex materials’
During the visit to Tianjin Chengjian University, the delegation of Bialystok University of Technology visited selected laboratories of the university and held discussions at individual faculties on opportunities for strengthening cooperation.
The highlight of the visit to Tianjin was the presentation of graduation diplomas to graduates of the International School of Engineering (ISE) who had completed first- and second-cycle studies.
