Logistics Programme at the Faculty of Engineering Management of Bialystok University of Technology Accredited by KAUT
10-04-2025
At the meeting of the Accreditation Commission of Universities of Technology held on 2 April 2025 in Radom, the members of the Commission, having reviewed the report of the evaluation team, decided to award the Logistics programme (first- and second-cycle studies) at Bialystok University of Technology with KAUT accreditation for the period 2024–2029. Consequently, the programme was granted the EUR-ACE® Label for the next five years.
– This is our shared success and confirmation of the high quality of education provided – said Prof. Joanna Ejdys, DSc, PhD, Eng, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Management at Bialystok University of Technology. – I would like to sincerely thank the entire team that prepared the report under the leadership of Dr Katarzyna Kuźmicz. My thanks also go to all those involved in teaching on the Logistics programme.
The standards and criteria for programme accreditation were developed by experts of KAUT and approved by the Commission for units of higher education institutions offering degree programmes in engineering and technology or with a significant engineering component.
The accreditation standards and criteria define the attributes of the education system assessed in the accreditation process in the following areas:
- the unit’s strategy and its alignment with the university’s mission and the region’s needs,
- compliance with legal regulations,
- qualifications of academic and teaching staff,
- correctness in defining learning outcomes and methods for verifying students’ achievement of those outcomes,
- engineering analysis, design and practice,
- proper implementation of the education process,
- study programmes,
- learning conditions,
- activities promoting engineering programmes among young people.
Accreditation is awarded to units with a clearly defined strategy aligned with the university’s mission, where the accredited programme clearly supports that strategy and mission.
KAUT is a member of ENAEE and is authorised to award the EUR-ACE® Label – a European quality certificate – to engineering programmes it accredits.
The EUR-ACE® Label provides an additional confirmation of the high quality of engineering education, verifying that the programme is delivered in accordance with standards set by professional organisations. It serves as a quality benchmark for graduates of first-cycle programmes applying for second-cycle studies, and for second-cycle graduates applying for doctoral programmes.
For employers, it is a guarantee that the candidate’s knowledge, understanding and practical skills meet international standards in engineering education.
For students, it is reassurance that programmes holding the EUR-ACE® Label meet international quality standards and are recognised by employers across Europe. In countries where engineering professions are regulated, EUR-ACE® Label programmes meet the requirements for obtaining the titles of Registered or Chartered Engineer (CEng), and the FEANI automatically recognises such programmes as eligible for the title of European Engineer (Eur Ing).
