Rector of Bialystok University of Technology to Speak at the 17th European Economic Congress

Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, Rector of Bialystok University of Technology, will take part in the 17th European Economic Congress in the session entitled Eastern Poland 2.0, scheduled for 25 April 2025.  

 

 

The Rector, Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, will join the debate alongside Konrad Wojnarowski, Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, and Kamil Waligóra, Director of the Office of the President of Bialystok, during the session Eastern Poland 2.0 at the 17th European Economic Congress. The discussion will address the economic consequences of the war in Ukraine for entrepreneurs, residents, and local governments in Eastern Poland.

Session topic: Eastern Poland 2.0

What new development stimuli does Eastern Poland need in the current situation? The consequences of the war for local governments in the region. Economic impacts: the collapse of tourism, concerns among entrepreneurs and investors. Loss of revenue for local authorities and declining quality of public services. Can investments in security become a development opportunity? What long-term solutions can or should stimulate investment in the region? Eastern Poland as a base for the future reconstruction of Ukraine – how to prepare for it? What can be done now?
Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, Rector of Bialystok University of Technology, will participate as an expert in the session Eastern Poland 2.0 on 25 April 2025 from 09:30 to 11:00.

17th European Economic Congress (EEC)

The 17th European Economic Congress (EEC) will take place from 23 to 25 April 2025 at the International Congress Centre and Spodek Arena in Katowice. It is the largest business event in Central Europe. The congress includes three days of fruitful discussions and meetings, 200 debates and a number of accompanying events.

The mission of the European Economic Congress has remained unchanged for years – it is a diverse and open forum on the future of the European and Polish economy, with the participation of businesses ranging from small and medium-sized enterprises to industry leaders and major European and global investors.

This year’s debates will feature European Commissioners, national and European politicians, as well as investors, entrepreneurs, local government representatives, scientists and experts. The panel of speakers at the European Economic Congress brings together a competent and influential group of voices.
