CISIM 2024

Each year, CISIM is primarily organised by the Biometrics Team at the Faculty of Computer Science, Bialystok University of Technology, under the leadership of Prof. Khalid Saeed. The conference has previously taken place in various locations including Poland, Olomouc in the Czech Republic (2018), Belgrade in Serbia (2019), as well as in countries outside Europe, such as Japan, India, South Korea, and Colombia.

For the 23rd edition of the conference, researchers from 20 countries, including Poland, Germany, India, Japan, Italy, South Korea, Colombia, and Canada, have confirmed their participation. The keynote speakers include:

• Witold Pedrycz – A renowned expert in artificial intelligence, listed among the top 1000 scientists worldwide according to the World’s TOP 2% Scientists 2020 list by Stanford University. He is affiliated with the Canada Research Chair in Computational Intelligence at the University of Alberta.
• Kenneth W. Regan – A professor from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Buffalo, USA. He is also a chess player, statistician, and computer scientist, known globally for his expertise in combating cheating in chess.
• Nobuyuki Nishiuchi – From Tokyo Metropolitan University (Japan), he is a world authority in human biometrics research and human-computer interaction.

The topics they will cover include:

• Biometrics and Security Methods: Preprocessing techniques, feature extraction, human identification based on facial features, retina and iris recognition, language, DNA, EEG, multimodal biometric methods, medical analysis, border security, biometric-cryptographic systems, fingerprinting, hand geometry, palmprints, speech and speaker recognition, and other related topics in human description, classification, identification, and identity recognition, as well as systems measuring human behaviour and mood.
• Computer Systems: Image and signal processing and analysis, computer vision, computer graphics, object classification and recognition, artificial intelligence, ambient intelligence, ubiquitous systems, mobile systems, network and computer system security, sensor networks, mobile and ad-hoc networks, service-oriented networks, middleware.
• Industrial Management and Other Solutions: Trade techniques, engineering economics, economic and cost analysis, engineering training and education, global production processes and management, human factors in industry, information processing, intelligent systems, manufacturing systems, operations research, production planning and control, project management, quality management and control, production safety, risk and security management, innovation management, production solution chains, system modelling and simulation, technology, and knowledge management.

CISIM is listed in the database of scientific journals and peer-reviewed conference materials by the Ministry of Education, earning 40 points.

3 April 2024: Deadline for submitting presentation proposals

9 May 2024: Acceptance of presentation topics

31 May 2024: Registration deadline

27 September 2024: First day of the conference
