KoKoN 2025 Award for the FORMA Student Scientific Association from the Faculty of Architecture of Bialystok University of Technology
14-11-2025
The award-winning project “Three Worlds” was created as part of the international workshop “Three Worlds”, implemented as part of the Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) “Three worlds a creative combination of craftsmanship and modern production” by the Faculty of Architecture of Bialystok University of Technology in cooperation with partner universities: Vilnius Kolegija (Lithuania), Rezekne Academy of Technologies (Latvia).
The project challenged the participants to combine a symbol of craft tradition – wicker – with modern materials (furniture board) and contemporary production methods. Students, many of whom worked with wicker for the first time, created unique objects responding to the challenge of the growing separation of humans from nature and cultural heritage.
The students were supported by:
- Stanisław Skórzak – a craftsman with 40 years of experience in working with wicker.
- Wojciech Józefowicz – practitioner in exhibition construction and carpentry.
- technological partner: WióR Sp.J.
The concept of the BIP programme “Three worlds a creative combination of craftsmanship and modern production” was created by Aleksandra Jakuć, MA and Radosław Górski, PhD. International Relations Offices of Bialystok University of Technology dealt with organisational matters.
The “Three Worlds” workshop programme included a theoretical part (conducted online between 3 March and 11 April 2025) and an intensive practical session at the Faculty of Architecture of Bialystok University of Technology (22–27 April 2025).
The official results announcement and the Student Community Gala took place on 8 November 2025 in Rzeszów, as part of the Forum of Technical Universities. The event was not only a celebration of achievements but also a platform for building inter-university contacts and creative inspiration.
The award was received on behalf of the FORMA Student Scientific Association by its president, Zuzanna Godlewska.
– We would like to thank the organisers of the KoKoN Competition and the jury for recognising our work. This exceptional award shows the enormous potential that lies in combining students’ creativity, craft traditions and modern technologies! – said Zuzanna Godlewska. – We are also grateful to all the people and mentors who supported us, students, at every stage of this extraordinary project.
Congratulations to the students and supervisors!
