Bialystok University of Technology has been ranked in the inaugural edition of the Polish University Ranking, which includes 101 institutions from Poland. The University achieved a high 27th place in the Institutional Efficiency indicator and 34th place in the Doctoral Students indicator.
In the overall ranking, Bialystok University of Technology was ranked 44th.
The ranking leader was the Jagiellonian University (100 points), followed by the University of Warsaw (99.64 points) and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (88.37 points).
The Polish University Ranking 2026 is the inaugural edition of the ranking prepared by the Work&Science Foundation in cooperation with PP Publishing.
It assessed 101 higher education institutions based on six indicators:
- Academic community awards (20%) – assessment of the authority of academic staff based on the number of employed laureates of distinctions awarded by the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP) and the National Science Centre (NCN).
- Scientific publications (20%) – a measure of current scientific performance, calculated on the basis of articles from 2025 included in the international Scopus database.
- TOP 1% publications (20%) – a qualitative indicator taking into account publications from 2025 that appeared in the top 1% of journals with the highest CiteScore in the Scopus database.
- World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University (20%) – the number of researchers affiliated with the University who were included in the prestigious international ranking of the world’s most cited scientists (World’s Top 2% Scientists compiled by Stanford University and Elsevier).
- Doctoral Students (10%) – teaching potential measured by the number of doctoral students studying at the University (data obtained from the RAD-on system).
- Institutional Efficiency (10%) – the ratio of the overall achievements and research results of a given institution to the total number of academic staff employed there.
