Paweł Tadejko, PhD, Eng., and Ewa Zapora, PhD, participated in the International 4Podlaskie Conference ‘Innovations in Agriculture, Food and Health. Cooperation – Technologies – Funding’. The forum for knowledge exchange between business and academia was held on 23 June 2026 in Bialystok.

The meeting at the Exhibition and Conference Centre of the Archdiocese of Bialystok brought together leaders of public administration, representatives of the academic community and entrepreneurs from Poland, as well as delegations from Finland, Spain and Romania. The main aim was to analyse trends in the AgriTech, FoodTech and HealthTech sectors.

Ewa Zapora, PhD, from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences of Bialystok University of Technology, emphasised that the key objective of the University’s participation in the 4Podlaskie project is to build international consortia. She noted that meetings with foreign partners provide an excellent opportunity to present the potential of Bialystok University of Technology, which may result in invitations to prestigious cross-cutting projects. During her presentation in the expert panel ‘Synergy between science and business – innovations driving regional development’, Ewa Zapora, PhD, presented two key areas of activity: designing bio-based feed additives from natural raw materials and using artificial intelligence to provide real support for today’s farmers.

Paweł Tadejko, PhD, Eng., from the Faculty of Computer Science of Bialystok University of Technology, focused on the role of artificial intelligence in gaining a competitive advantage. He explained that AI tools can be applied at every level of business – from small producers researching export markets to large enterprises implementing advanced agricultural machinery monitoring systems, as exemplified by SaMASZ. The expert highlighted the significant time savings provided by AI; thanks to modern tools, analytical processes and so-called desk research, which previously took months, can now be shortened even tenfold. This enables expert teams to obtain high-quality initial material for further analyses of market trends and changes almost immediately.

The expert panel ‘European innovation support standards – proven practices of 4Podlaskie Partners’ was attended by Tomasz Stypułkowski, President of the Institute of Innovation and Technology at Bialystok University of Technology.
