Bialystok University of Technology strives to bridge the gap between students and potential employers. Events such as Google Day, which took place on 12 March 2026 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Bialystok University of Technology, serve this purpose.
– I came to Google Day because I am interested in working at Google – says Vladislav Matveev, a computer science student at the Faculty of Computer Science of Bialystok University of Technology – I am currently studying for a Master’s degree and looking for a job as a software developer, so this is a good time to find out what the recruitment process at the company looks like. It is great that such an initiative has been organised, as it is very much needed. We can see that finding employment in such a large company is possible.
Thanks to the meeting, students gained valuable insight into the labour market, and Bialystok University of Technology was able to initiate cooperation with Google.
– As part of Google Day, we are hosting one of the most advanced companies in the world – says Assoc. Prof. Katarzyna Halicka, DSc, PhD, Eng., Vice-Rector for Education at Bialystok University of Technology. – Our students are learning from Google employees how modern technologies are developing, what it is like to work in such a large organisation, and how to shape their career paths. It is important that they have direct contact with innovative companies. Our University continues to open up to new partners, strengthening ties with external partners by collaborating with innovative and dynamic companies.
The meeting with Google experts was attended by students from several faculties of Bialystok University of Technology, who learned about career prospects and the unique organisational culture of the corporation, which focuses on talent development, employee well-being and actively shaping career paths within areas such as Google Cloud and Google Chrome.
– I would like to learn what it is like to work at Google and what the company expects from candidates – says Hubert Mściwujewski, a student of automation and robotics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Bialystok University of Technology. – Such a meeting can certainly help in finding future employment, if not at Google, then elsewhere. It is a valuable experience – you can learn a lot.
The speakers presented topics related to cloud solutions, CDN networks and the Chrome browser backend, but above all they outlined career development opportunities at Google, which enable long-term careers through changing teams or specialisations. They also dispelled the myth that one must be a genius, pointing instead to the importance of a range of skills, from technical expertise to creativity and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
– I am very pleased that we have the opportunity to meet representatives of Google – they are a group of very open and creative people – says Izabela Senderacka, PhD, Vice-Dean for Development and Cooperation at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Bialystok University of Technology. – The aim of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering is to stimulate students to engage in creative work. I hope that this meeting will enable them to learn about the working environment within the company, become familiar with the company’s activities and technological projects, and above all open their minds and give them the confidence to create innovative solutions.
