The German-Polish Conference on Optimization Methods and Applications is a prestigious scientific event with a long tradition (held cyclically since the 1970s), serving as a platform for knowledge exchange between Polish and German research centers in the field of optimization.
The main goals of the conference are the integration of the scientific community and presentation of the latest theoretical and practical achievements in optimization methods.
The event focuses on:
- Experience exchange: Presentation of the latest algorithms, control theory, and mathematical programming methods.
- Practical applications: Discussion of how optimization helps solve problems in industry, economy, medicine, and engineering.
- International cooperation: Strengthening ties between mathematicians and computer scientists from Poland and Germany (though the conference is open to participants worldwide).
The conference is scientific and expert-oriented. Its target audience includes:
- Academic staff and researchers: Specialists in applied mathematics, computer science, and operations research.
- PhD students and early-career scientists: An excellent opportunity to present initial research results to an international expert panel.
- Engineers and analysts: Professionals in R&D sectors who use mathematical modeling and process optimization in their work.
Conference topics include:
- Continuous and discrete optimization
- Control theory and variational calculus
- Stochastic optimization
- Applications in machine learning and artificial intelligence
