04-12-2025
Bialystok University of Technology Day is an important part of the academic tradition of the largest technical university in north-eastern Poland and an opportunity to summarise the excellent achievements of academic teachers, doctoral students, students and alumni.
– Bialystok University of Technology is a globally recognised brand! Together with 8 universities from border regions, we co-create the ACROSS European University – emphasised Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, Rector of Bialystok University of Technology.
The ACROSS European University is implemented by Bialystok University of Technology together with universities from Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina and an associate partner from Ukraine. Representatives of partner universities were present at the ceremony.
Continuing the presentation of the university’s achievements, Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, informed that last year Bialystok University of Technology obtained over PLN 33 million for R&D projects, mentioning, among others, the AgroAI project (a system for testing agricultural machines using artificial intelligence algorithms) and Bio for Future (a biodiversity protection project in cooperation with national parks). She added that a Technology Transfer Centre was created in the university’s structure. The investment of Bialystok University of Technology was enriched with new laboratories, including a microscopy centre for material research.
Assoc. Prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, DSc, PhD, Eng, also spoke about the unflagging popularity of technical studies. In 2025, Bialystok University of Technology recorded a record number of candidates interested in studies, over 4,700 applicants in the first intake. With students and the improvement of the quality of education in mind, the University is implementing two major projects: “PB 5.0”, with funding exceeding PLN 20 million, concerning the modernisation of study programmes and the digitalisation of teaching processes, and the WINGS PB programme (Support, Integration, Learning, Guarantee of Success), with PLN 4.5 million in funding, aimed at preventing student drop-out.
In conclusion, the Rector mentioned that for many years the campus of Bialystok University of Technology has been the venue of the Juwenalia student festival, which has become a Podlasie regional brand. The most recent investment serving the student community is the Recreational Student Culture Zone.
Letter from the President of the Republic of Poland
On the occasion of the Bialystok University of Technology Day, the President of the Republic of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, addressed a letter to the academic community of the university.
