Bialystok University of Technology ranked 5th in Poland in the QS World University Rankings

Bialystok University of Technology has ranked 5th in Poland in the Governance category of the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026. The latest edition of this prestigious ranking confirms the strong position of the technical university from Białystok in the field of responsible governance.
 

The University achieved a very high score in the Governance category, placing 459th globally and 5th in Poland, advancing by one position among Polish universities – in a year when competition increased significantly. The global ranking expanded by more than 250 institutions, covering over 2000 universities. Among them were 26 higher education institutions from Poland (four more than last year). This result highlights the consistently strengthened position of Bialystok University of Technology in the field of sustainable development.

The ranking committee once again recognised the University authorities for their actions in the areas of:

  • maintaining high ethical standards;
  • transparency of decision-making processes;
  • responsible recruitment procedures;
  • active dialogue with student organisations and the academic community.

In the overall classification, Bialystok University of Technology ranked 16th in Poland and placed in the 1101–1150 band worldwide, as the only representative of the Podlaskie Voivodeship included in the ranking.

The global leader of the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026 is Lund University (Sweden), recognised as the most sustainable university in the world, achieving impressive results in the evaluation categories: environmental impact, social impact and governance. The top three also include the University of Toronto (Canada), which ranked second, and University College London (United Kingdom), which took third place.

The highest-ranked universities in Poland are: Jagiellonian University, University of Warsaw and University of Gdańsk.
