On 15 December 2025, the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Marcin Kulasek, PhD, Eng, appointed experts of the Science Evaluation Committee who will participate in the assessment of the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity for the years 2022–2025. Among the distinguished researchers was the Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Bogusław Butryło, DSc, PhD, Eng.
The role of an expert of the Science Evaluation Committee constitutes an important element of the system for assessing scientific output and the quality of research conducted in scientific units in Poland. The appointment of Assoc. Prof. Bogusław Butryło, DSc, PhD, Eng to the team of experts is an expression of recognition for his professional achievements, competences and experience.
Experts appointed by the minister are responsible, inter alia, for assessing the quality of scientific activity, preparing lists of publishing houses issuing peer-reviewed scientific monographs, presenting proposals of scientific categories for entities subject to evaluation, as well as cooperating with national and international institutions involved in the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity.
Assoc. Prof. Bogusław Butryło, DSc, PhD, Eng is a recognised scientist, academic teacher and expert in the field of electrical engineering. For many years he has been associated with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at Bialystok University of Technology, where he combines research activity with organisational and social functions.
He performs important functions within the university’s structure, including that of Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering (since 2020). His work in this position has contributed to strengthening the Faculty’s cooperation with the socio-economic environment and to the development of research infrastructure.
He is actively involved in the activities of the Association of Polish Electrical Engineers (SEP) – Bialystok Branch. He participates in expert bodies and scientific committees of national and international conferences, working to integrate the academic community with the energy and electrical engineering industry.
In 2021, he became an associate member of the Section of Field Theory and Electrical Circuits of the Committee on Electrical Engineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The appointment was made pursuant to Article 274 section 2 of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws of 2024, item 1571, as amended) and § 23 section 6 and § 25 section 1 of the Regulation of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of 22 February 2019 on the evaluation of the quality of scientific activity (Journal of Laws of 2022, item 661, and of 2025, items 1053 and 1687).
