The Across – European University project aims for at least half of the participating students to spend part of their studies at partner universities, increasing young people’s job market prospects and developing intercultural competencies.
– Going abroad is not only about studying. It’s also about experiencing new cultures, improving language skills, and building relationships that could benefit students in the future, – says Assoc. BUT’s Contribution to Across – European University
Bialystok University of Technology plays an active role in the Across project, collaborating with other universities to develop innovative teaching methods, facilitate student and researcher exchanges, and promote scientific research in an international environment.
– Collaboration within Across is not only an opportunity to exchange experiences but also a chance for our university to grow and elevate its international standing, – emphasises Prof. Krawczyk.
The working meeting, held in France on 23-24 January 2025, marked a significant step toward the vision of creating modern, integrated European universities designed to enhance student opportunities and elevate the level of scientific research across the EU.
What is the Across project?
Across is a unique alliance of uhigher education institutions from different border regions of Europe. Its primary aim is to facilitate international courses and exchanges for students while helping academic staff form international research teams and secure joint projects.
– The Across project offers our students opportunities to gain international experience and develop skills essential in today’s world. It also opens new avenues for the professional development of our staff, – notes Prof. Dorota Krawczyk.
Through this collaboration, universities are better equipped to prepare students for careers in a globalised world while fostering innovation and joint research efforts.
The University of Perpignan is responsible for project communication and coordination. Across connects nine universities from European cross-border regions, including France/Spain, Italy/Slovenia, Romania/Bulgaria, Germany/Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina/Croatia, and Ukraine.
