Bialystok University of Technology ranks 6th in Poland in the 2025 Times Higher Education Rankings

For the third time, Bialystok University of Technology has been included in one of the most prestigious and recognisable university rankings in the world. In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025, our university ranked 6th in Poland, placing in the 1501+ band. We are the only non-medical university in the Podlaskie region listed in the ranking.
 

Bialystok University of Technology maintained its position in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025. This year, 2,092 universities from around the world were evaluated, 185 more institutions than in the previous year.

The ranking is based on 18 indicators grouped into five areas: Teaching, Research Environment, Research Quality, Industry, and International Outlook.

Bialystok University of Technology ranked in the 1501+ band, placing it in joint 6th position in Poland. The university improved its overall score, earning between 10.5 and 25.1 points (compared to 9.7-22.7 points in the previous edition).

Year on year, Bialystok University of Technology improves its performance in the area of International Outlook, increasing its score from 22 points in the 2023 edition to 27.6 in this year’s edition.

It is worth noting that Bialystok University of Technology is the only non-medical university in the Podlaskie region listed in the ranking.

The best result in this year’s edition was achieved by Wroclaw Medical University, which ranked in the 501-600 band, advancing from third place last year. The next positions were taken by Jagiellonian University and the University of Warsaw, which both ranked in the 601-800 band.

For the ninth consecutive year, the University of Oxford holds the top spot in the rankings. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has risen from third to second place, while Harvard University takes third place.

The rankings were based on an analysis of 157 million citations and 18 million research publications, as well as survey responses from over 93,000 scholars worldwide. In 2025, 40 universities from Poland were listed, with 4 universities receiving “Reporter” status.
