Researchers from Bialystok University of Technology among the TOP 2% of the World’s Best Scientists!

The Top 2% list of the most influential scientists is compiled by Stanford University in cooperation with Elsevier and SciTech Strategies. The ranking includes researchers from around the world and is based on their scientific contributions. Evaluation criteria include the number of citations by other authors, the Hirsch index (h-index), and the position and role of the researcher in the author list of publications. The data for the ranking is drawn from the Scopus database.
Stanford University compiles two types of rankings. The first considers a scientist’s entire career (up to the end of 2023), while the second focuses on contributions within a specific calendar year, in this case, 2023. A total of 10 researchers from Bialystok University of Technology are featured across both lists.
In the ranking evaluating lifetime achievements up to 2023, six scientists from Bialystok University of Technology were included (listed in order of their ranking position on the TOP 2% list):

- prof. Krzysztof J. Kurzydłowski – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Bialystok University of Technology,
- assoc. prof. Krzysztof K. Żur, DSc, PhD, Eng – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of Bialystok University of Technology,
- assoc. prof. Marek Drużdżel, DSc, PhD, Eng – Faculty of Computer Science of Bialystok University of Technology,
- prof. Włodzimierz Lewandowski – Faculty of Civil Engineering and Environmental Sciences of Bialystok University of Technology,
- prof. Jan Dorosz – Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Bialystok University of Technology.
In the ranking evaluating scientific output for the year 2023 alone, seven researchers from Bialystok University of Technology were included (listed in order of their ranking position on the TOP 2% list):
