Bialystok University of Technology in three universities in Singapore

Prospects for cooperation between Bialystok University of Technology and Nanyang Technological University in the field of mobility of students and teachers to summer schools, as well as plans for an agreement under the Erasmus+ Program and opportunities for cooperation with the National University of Singapore and the Singapore University of Technology and Design are the most important effects of the visit of Assoc. Prof. Dorota Anna Krawczyk, DSc, PhD, Eng, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Agata Dziekońska, MSc, Head of the Mobility and International Agreements Unit at Bialystok University of Technology.

 

From 12 to 22.03.2024, Assoc. Prof. Dorota Anna Krawczyk, DSc, PhD, Eng Vice-Rector for International Cooperation and Agata Dziekońska, MSc, Head of the Department of Mobility and International Agreements Unit visited three universities in Singapore: the National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University and the Singapore University of Technology and Design.. 

– The visit to the National University of Singapore resulted in the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of innovative BIPVs (Building Integrated Photovoltaic Panels) solutions and a meeting with Prof. Carlos Clementa from SERIS ( Solar Energy Institute of Singapore) – reports Assoc. Prof. Dorota Anna Krawczyk, DSc, PhD, Eng, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation. – Prof. Lee Poh Seng Co-Director of SgEC (Singapore Energy Center) and Dean of the College of Design and Engineering presented their flagship projects.

Thanks to the invitation of Prof. Jian Chu and Prof. Siew Hwa Chan, representatives of Bialystok University of Technology, had the opportunity to visit the Higher School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Institute of Energy Research at Nanyang Technological University. Niels de Boer and Faizal Zulkeflie presented research areas related to sustainable development and guided us through modern laboratories. During the visit to Nanyang Technological University, a meeting was held with representatives of the Office of International Engagement, during which the possibilities of cooperation between universities in the context of student and teacher mobility for short training trips were discussed, i.e. Summer Schools. It was also proposed to sign an agreement under the Erasmus+ KA171 Programme enabling representatives of Nanyang Technological University to come to our University and the mobility of employees of Bialystok University of Technology to the university in Singapore.

During the visit to the Singapore University of Technology and Design, Prof. Lay Kee ( Ricky) Ang, prof. Stylianos Dritsas and Dr. ONg Eng Hong presented the main directions of their activities and the university. Mrs. Lynn Chew guided the representatives of Bialystok University of Technology around the campus, presenting interesting architectural solutions designed by the university’s employees.

– This modern unit is particularly open to cooperation at the Faculty of Architecture of Bialystok University of Technology – emphasises Assoc. Prof. Dorota Anna Krawczyk, DSc, PhD, Eng Vice-Rector for International Cooperation.

The National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University are recognized universities, known in the world (8th and 26th position in QS World University Rankings 2024, respectively), while the Singapore University of Technology and Design is a modern university operating for 15 years, which is dynamically climbing in the rankings (429th place in QS WUR).
