New opportunities for BUP participants:

Ivan Franko National University of Lviv shares an invitation to the Online Winter School 'Data Engineering and Security 2025′

This event is one of the largest IT schools in the country which annually has brought together the best industry specialists, experts, mentors, and lecturers from leading IT companies to transfer knowledge and experience to hundreds of students. The main goal of this project is to increase young people’s interest in new IT innovations and to form a platform for studying theoretical foundations and mastering practical skills in the most popular areas of the IT industry.

The winter school will be held online on 20 January – 2 February 2025.

During the event there will be two parallel study streams, Core A – students-beginners in IT, notably 1st-2nd year; Core B – participants with experience in IT, in particular, 3rd-4th year students.

During such difficult times for the country, the support and development of such projects is a direct contribution to the intellectual potential of the young generation and, consequently, to the technical development of Ukraine.

For the success of this year’s program, the hosts rely on partners, especially speakers ready to share their expertise with students. If you would like to contribute, please send an email to marketing@lnu.edu.ua.

More information about the event and the application form can be found on the event website.

Hamburg University of Applied Sciences shares an invitation for applications to attend the Symposium on Qualifications, Training, Micro-Credentials and Sustainable Development

This event aims to gather experts, academics, industry leaders, and policymakers to discuss the role of micro-credentials in promoting sustainable development as a whole, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in particular. The symposium will:

  • explore how micro-credentials can be tailored to educate and train individuals in skills directly related to sustainable development, such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and circular economy practices;
  • discuss ways to make micro-credentials accessible to a broader audience, including marginalised and rural communities, to promote inclusive education and opportunities;
  • foster partnerships between educational institutions, industries, and governments to ensure the micro-credentials are recognised and valued in the labor market and can effectively contribute to SDGs.

The event is hosted by Tallinn University, Estonia, and will be held on-site in Tallinn on 20 – 21 February 2025.

The event will feature plenary presentations and discussions: key speakers from academia, industry, and governmental sectors to provide a multi-perspective view of the challenges and solutions associated with micro-credentials for sustainable development. There will also be parallel sessions: presentations on innovative micro-credential initiatives and programmes.

This Symposium will provide a valuable platform for stakeholders to converge, exchange ideas, and pave the way for new micro-credential initiatives that integrate education, technology, and sustainable development.

The deadline for registering to attend is 15 January 2025.

More information about the event, such as related costs and the application process, can be found on the event website.
