Erasmus+
Erasmus+ is the European Union’s program supporting education, training, youth, and sport. It offers funding for going abroad for educational, professional, or volunteering purposes. Participants receive a grant and are exempt from tuition fees at the host institution.
The program is divided into several main areas (sectors):
-
Higher education: Mobility for students to complete a part of their studies abroad (from 2 to 12 months) and to undertake international traineeships. It also enables exchange opportunities for university staff.
-
Schools and education: Mobility opportunities for pupils and teachers, as well as participation in international school partnerships.
-
Youth: Youth exchanges, training for youth leaders, and European volunteering opportunities for individuals aged 13 to 30.
-
Adult education: Courses, training, and job-shadowing visits for educators and adult learners.
-
Sport: Projects supporting local initiatives and cooperation between sports organizations.
To take part in the program, the easiest way is to contact the international office of your university, a local youth organization, or to directly visit the website of the Erasmus+ National Agency, where detailed information on recruitment and criteria can be found. The full scope of activities is also available on the official European Commission portal.
