Take part in the “A story in one moment” contest

One photo, one moment – and a whole story behind it. The Foreign Language Centre of Bialystok University of Technology invites you to take part in the 5th edition of the photography and language contest “A story in one moment”.

This is already the fifth edition of the contest, which has been attracting strong interest among students each year and resulting in many interesting, creative and inspiring entries. Participants show that one photo and just a few words in a foreign language can tell a unique story.

The contest is addressed to students who would like to combine creativity with language skills and express themselves through both image and words. It is a great opportunity to present your passions, interests and perspective, while also developing your foreign language competences in practice.

This year’s theme encourages participants to capture a single, meaningful moment – a scene that conveys emotions, significance or a personal story. It can be something ordinary or extraordinary – what matters most is your idea, interpretation and the message behind the photo.

To take part, participants are asked to submit a photo related to the theme along with a title and a short description (200–500 characters) in one of the following languages: English, German, Spanish or Russian. Entries should be submitted via the application form.

Submissions are open until 24 April 2026.

Photography and language contest “A story in one moment”

Entries will be evaluated by a jury based on their relevance to the theme, language quality and artistic value. The jury will select the winners of the main prizes. In addition, a Public Award will be granted to the photo that receives the highest number of votes cast via Microsoft Forms.
