Top 5 benefits of the BUP

Bialystok University of Technology is part of the Baltic University Programme. It is an association of 90 universities from the Baltic Sea region that care about a healthy, green planet and clean seas.

We want to develop, but above all we care about our home planet. We are fighting climate changes. We are creating a better world. We are teaching how to use natural resources wisely.

1. Take a free online course, e.g.:

2. Take part in a student conference

The 2023 BUP Student Conference was held in May 2023 at Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania.
The conference had a focus on Sustainable production and consumption: A circular economy perspective. A total of 70 students, from 31 participating universities and all 10 network countries joined the event.

3. Science and SAIL on a tall ship

Join the summer school in Latvia for a week of learning and fun!

Last summer, the summer school was held in Lithuania at Klaipėda University. The focus was on the Baltic Sea Environment with students studying on both sea and land with leading experts from across the region. A total of 35 students from 26 of the BUP participating universities and all 10 countries within the BUP network joined the event. Read more.

The next edition of the summer school will take place in July 2024. Details are coming soon.

4. Apply for a BUP Mobility Grant

If you are a young researcher and have original ideas in the field of sustainability, able to capture and develop the concept of sustainability in a unique and unexpected direction, then apply for a BUP Mobility Grant. This is an opportunity to develop and strengthen cooperation between young researchers in the Baltic Sea Region. You can receive up to €3,000.

5. Become a student ambassador!

The role of Student Ambassadors is to cooperate with the participating universities to serve as a contact person between their home university and its students and the BUP Coordinating Secretariat in Uppsala as well as the National Centre. As the Student Ambassador of your home university, you are asked to promote BUP events and activities among your fellow students and academic staff. There are three different profiles that you can chose to be engaged in as a Student Ambassador, the social media group, the research communication group, and the event group. Learn more.
