Project: Biometrics and Artificial Intelligence: Security and Modern Challenges

Total project budget: PLN 705,030.12
The project aims to improve the quality of education and develop the internationalisation of the Białystok University of Technology through the implementation of an Intensive International Education Programme (IMPK) in the field of biometrics and artificial intelligence. The key objectives include:
- implementation of a modern teaching programme in English,
- involving international experts and students from foreign universities,
- developing the interdisciplinary competences of participants in the field of AI and biometrics,
- strengthening international cooperation,
- promoting Poland as an attractive academic and research centre.
Project tasks:
- developing a programme and teaching materials in cooperation with experts from India, the USA, Italy, Canada and Japan,
- organising a summer school (14 days, including 10 teaching days, 80 hours of classes – 40 hours of lectures and 40 hours of laboratories),
- monitoring and evaluation of learning outcomes (micro-credentials in three subject areas: Fundamentals of Biometric Systems, Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, Artificial Intelligence in Biometrics),
- international promotion and recruitment activities.
Target group
The project is aimed at 45 foreign students and doctoral students from Europe, Asia, North and South America. The target audience are people studying technical fields related to computer science, electronics, physics and mathematics, with basic programming skills and knowledge of English.
Results
- improving participants’ competences in the field of AI and biometrics,
- internationalising the educational offer of the Białystok University of Technology,
- strengthening the university’s position in the global academic community,
- developing long-term cooperation with universities and experts from abroad.
