Igor Mitoraj
Igor Mitoraj (1944-2014) was a phenomenal artist and sculptor whose work can be seen in the streets of various cities in the world: in Cracow’s Main Market Square (Eros Bound), in front of British Museum in London, in Madrid in front of Prado National Museum, in Warsaw, Poznan, Paris, Rome, Florence, Milan, Valencia…
He created marble statues but also bronze casts, mainly monumental corpses, torsos, heads, resembling antique sculptures but they look as if unfinished or time-worn, with truncated limbs and damaged body parts. His works stay in the minds of the spectators for long. For ever.
