Geographical center of Europe

Do you know that the geographical center of Europe is located in the Podlaskie Region, in Suchowola – a small town located about 40 km north of Białystok?

he fact is that due to the not very precise border between Europe and Asia, there are several points considered as a possible center of Europe. One of them, according to the calculations of the royal astronomer from 1775, is located in Suchowola.

Currently, there is an obelisk with a memorial that reminds residents and tourists of this important fact.
