CoMaDe Science on the Island – Winter School on Gotland

Students and doctoral candidates of Bialystok University of Technology are invited to take part in the international winter school CoMaDe Science on the Island, organised by The Baltic University Programme (BUP) and Uppsala University. The event will take place from 31 January to 6 February 2027 on Gotland, Sweden.

The winter school will focus on the Baltic Sea coast – its past, present-day challenges and possible future developments. Using Gotland as a learning environment, participants will explore how people and coastal environments have shaped one another over time. The programme includes excursions, field activities and interactive workshops, drawing on perspectives from the natural sciences, social sciences and transdisciplinary approaches.

The event is open to Bachelor’s and Master’s students as well as doctoral candidates from universities participating in The Baltic University Programme. Students from all fields of study are welcome, and no prior knowledge of the Baltic Sea environment is required.
