Erasmus Study Visit to Tallinn: Building Bridges for Sustainable and Innovative Education

01-04-2026

Last week, mgr Aniela Staszewska participated in an Erasmus+ staff mobility to Tallinn, hosted by Estonian Business School, a partner university of the Baltic University Programme. The program was prepared by Associate Professor Veiko Karu.

She visited universities, research groups, public institutions, and industry partners, to better understand the Estonian perspective on issues of sustainability, engineering, entrepreneurship, and international cooperation. The programme included an intensive series of meetings across Tallinn’s leading educational and research institutions:

Estonian Business School (EBS): Discussions with the Sustainable Circular Economy Research Group, International Office and TooEarly Ventures offered valuable insights into circular economy research, early‑stage entrepreneurship, and opportunities for joint projects.

Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech): At TalTech, conversations revolved around the EuroTeQ Engineering University initiative, Circular Economy Core Lab, the Center of Excellence SOURCES, and the university’s strong commitment to student entrepreneurship—showcasing pathways for European‑level collaboration.

Tallinna Tehnikakõrgkool (TKTK): Meetings at TKTK focused on the organization of Blended Intensive Programmes, hackathon concepts, and access to their well‑equipped technical labs—opening new possibilities for applied learning and hands‑on student engagement.

Tallinn University – Institute of Ecology: Here, we explored critical environmental issues such as Estonia’s water management challenges and Baltic Sea ecology, and learned about the institute’s scientific infrastructure and research directions.

Education and Youth Board of Estonia: Exchanges with STEM programme coordinators provided inspiration on youth engagement, national STEM strategies, and prospects for future joint initiatives.

Uptime / Opus Offices: Meeting with a representative of the private‑sector gave a business perspective on the challenges and opportunities of the AI era, and highlighted potential areas for Estonia–Poland collaboration in the digital and IT sectors.

Udział w sympozjum: The visit concluded with participation in the „Universities as Change Agents in Sustainable Development” symposium, part of the Baltic University Programme, reinforcing the role of higher education in building sustainable futures across the region.
The experience demonstrated how international cooperation can generate fresh momentum for joint learning, for entrepreneurship, and for long-term partnership building between Estonia and Poland. If you would also like to discover what Estonia has to offer, Estonia Business School is organizing a Staff Week 5-8 October, 2026.
