Strategic Partner: Polytechnic network VIA CARPATIA

Intensifying the cooperation of the three technical universities (Bialystok University of Technology, Lublin University of Technology and Rzeszow University of Technology) resulted in structure in the form of a network with areas of cooperation, vision of development the provisions of the Law on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018, which states:
“The mission of the system of higher education and science is to conduct the highest quality of education and scientific activity, to shape civic attitudes, and to participate in social development and the creation of an innovation-based economy.”
With a view to the sustainable development of the Network, it was assumed that each of the Universities included in the VIA CARPATIA Polytechnic Network is a Leader of one of the areas:
1. education – Bialystok University of Technology,
2. science – Lublin University of Technology,
3. commercialization – Rzeszow University of Technology.
The assignment of a given university to an area resulted from the SWOT analysis conducted for the Network’s development strategy. It indicated Bialystok University of Technology as the university with the greatest experience in didactics, which is confirmed by the fact that it educates the largest number of students annually among the universities gathered in the VIA CARPATIA Polytechnic Network. Lublin University of Technology, due to the excellent results of the last two evaluations of the quality of scientific activity, has taken patronage of the Science area. Rzeszow University of Technology – the undisputed leader in knowledge transfer on the right side of the Vistula River – is leading the Commercialization area.
Due to the scale of the project and the number of planned tasks, it was assumed that the Area Leader is primarily responsible for the coordination of all activities within its area, manages the process of communication between universities in the area and is responsible for the evaluation of initiatives implemented in the area.
Bearing in mind the need to translate the vision of the development of Eastern Poland into actions, the authorities of the Polytechnics established three working teams to develop a set of activities that would be a step towards the realization of the university’s mission in a perfect way. The activities were to be prepared in such a way that they would have a reliable and measurable impact on the region’s society and could be continued, developed in the years to come. They were to be at the same time coherent and inclusive, bearing in mind the key role of the university’s mission stakeholders in achieving its excellence: entities of the socio-economic environment, entrepreneurs, the school, or simply – society.
First competitions within the VIA CARPATIA Polytechnic Network have been announced in December 2022. Since then, VIA CARPATIA Polytechnic Network is realizing vision, mission, taking into account values.
