Ostatni Welcome Dinner w ramach projektu Welcome at BUT NAWA

26 lutego 2025 r. na Wydziale Informatyki Politechniki Białostockiej odbyło się ostatnie z zaplanowanych czterech spotkań adresowanych do studentów i gości zagranicznych w ramach projektu Welcome at BUT, realizowanego przez naszą uczelnię dzięki wsparciu z programu Welcome to Poland Narodowej Agencji Wymiany Akademickiej.
W ostatnim spotkaniu w ramach projektu wzięło udział blisko 100 osób, w tym studenci Erasmus+ oraz studenci full time. Gośćmi specjalnymi spotkania byli: dr hab. inż. Dorota Anna Krawczyk prof. PB, Prorektor ds. Współpracy Międzynarodowej PB oraz przedstawiciele Straży Granicznej i Policji.
Spotkanie rozpoczęło się od oficjalnego powitania studentów i gości przez Prorektor ds. Współpracy Międzynarodowej. Następnie przedstawiciele Straży Granicznej i Policji przedstawili podstawowy zasad i regulacji obowiązujących obcokrajowców przebywających w Polsce. W dalszej części spotkania Servando Herrera Zuazo z DWM przedstawił przydatne informacje na temat studiowania w Politechnice Białostockiej i pobytu w Polsce. Prezentacja zawierała pro-tipy dotyczące funkcjonowania na kampusie i w uczelni, a także wskazówki ułatwiające poruszanie się po naszym mieście i kraju.
Następnie, Marta Orpik z DWM, koordynatorka projektu Welcome at BUT, przedstawiła informacje o nadchodzących wydarzeniach, które będą zorganizowane w ramach projektu Welcome to Poland w Politechnice Białostockiej. Grupa studentów zza granicy będzie mogła uczestniczyć m.in. w warsztatach kulinarnych, wycieczkach po Białymstoku i regionie, wycieczkach do Muzeum Pamięci Sybiru, spotkaniach Pumpkin Party i Christmas Meeting oraz w turnieju piłki nożnej BUT Cup. Ich organizacja będzie możliwa dzięki dofinansowaniu ze środków NAWA.
Na zakończenie części wykładowej, mgr Halina Bramska ze Studium Języków Obcych poprowadziła prezentację na temat języka polskiego oraz ciekawostek dotyczących kultury i historii naszego kraju.
Welcome Dinner zakończył się obiadem składającym się z polskich potraw, podczas którego studenci mieli okazję spróbować pierogów, kartaczy, babki, bigosu czy żurku. Dodatkowo, uczestnicy Welcome Dinner otrzymali Welcome Packi ufundowane również w ramach projektu Welcome at BUT finansowanego w ramach programu Welcome to Poland NAWA.
Spotkanie w pełni spełniło swoje cele, jakimi było przybliżenie polskiej kultury naszym nowym studentom oraz zintegrowanie ich ze społecznością akademicką PB.
W kolejnych semestrach spotkania Welcome Dinner będą organizowane w ramach kolejnego projektu w ramach programu Welcome to Poland NAWA – “Akcja-Integracja 2.0”.
On 26 February 2025, at the Faculty of Information Technology of the Białystok University of Technology, the last of the planned four meetings addressed to students and foreign guests was held as part of the Welcome at BUT project, implemented by our university thanks to support from the Welcome to Poland programme of the National Academic Exchange Agency.
The last meeting within the project was attended by nearly 100 people, including Erasmus+ students and full-time students. Special guests at the meeting were: Prof. Dorota Anna Krawczyk, Ph.D., Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at BUT, and representatives of the Border Guard and the Police.
The meeting started with an official welcome to the students and guests by the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation. Then, representatives of the Border Guard and the Police presented the basic rules and regulations applicable to foreigners staying in Poland. Later in the meeting, Servando Herrera Zuazo from IROs presented useful information on studying at the Białystok University of Technology and staying in Poland. The presentation included pro-tips on how to function on campus and at the university, as well as tips to help you get around our city and country.
Then, Marta Orpik from IROs, coordinator of the Welcome at BUT project, presented information about the upcoming events that will be organised as part of the Welcome to Poland project at the Białystok University of Technology. Groups of foreign students will be able to participate in, among other things, culinary workshops, excursions around Białystok and the region, trips to the Sibir Memorial Museum, Pumpkin Party and Christmas Meeting, and the BUT Cup football tournament. Their organisation will be made possible thanks to funding from NAWA.
At the end of the lecture part, MA Halina Bramska from the Centre for Foreign Languages gave a presentation on the Polish language and interesting facts about the culture and history of our country.
The Welcome Dinner ended with a dinner consisting of Polish dishes, during which students had the opportunity to try pierogi, kartacze, babka, bigos or żurek. Additionally, the participants of the Welcome Dinner received Welcome Packs funded also by the Welcome at BUT project financed by the Welcome to Poland NAWA programme.
The meeting fully met its objectives, which were to familiarise our new students with Polish culture and to integrate them into the BUT academic community.
In subsequent semesters, Welcome Dinner meetings will be organised as part of another project under the Welcome to Poland NAWA programme – Akcja-Integracja 2.0’.
