1st edition

The 1st International Young Researchers Conference: Ideas, Research, Training was organized by the Doctoral Student Council of Bialystok University of Technology and the Association of Doctoral Students of Technical Universities, with the Foundation for the Development of Bialystok University of Technology and the Doctoral Student Council of Silesian University of Technology as partners.

The conference took place in a hybrid format. In total, 28 participants attended the event on-site, including representatives from Bialystok University of Technology, Rzeszow University of Technology, Gdansk University of Technology, Silesian University of Technology, and the Technical University of Kosice in Slovakia. Additionally, 6 participants attended online sessions, including representatives from Bialystok University of Technology, the Technical University of Kosice, the Fire Academy, and Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania.

The conference featured three oral presentation sessions and one poster session, during which 18 presentations and 14 posters were delivered. The Scientific Committee evaluated the presentations and posters, and the following participants received awards: MSc Eng. Arkadiusz Bożko, MSc Eng. Maciej Kozłowski, Dr. Eng. Branko Stefanovic, and MSc Eng. Michał Falkowski.

Participants also had the opportunity to attend two workshops. The first workshop, titled “Cultural Differences,” was led by Dr. Joanna Szydło from Bialystok University of Technology. The second workshop, “5 Tips for Clear Scientific Communication” was delivered in English by Dr. Monika Śleszyńska, also from Bialystok University of Technology.

Participants published their work as a chapter in the post-conference monograph, which is released now and available here.

This successful 1st edition of the conference provided a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and networking among doctoral students and researchers from Poland and abroad.
