Intensive programme for teaching staff in Greece at TUC

29-11-2024

From November 18 to 22, 2024, an intensive programme for teaching staff took place at the Technical University of Crete in Chania, Greece.

The meeting brought together project partners from universities in Technical University of Crete (TUC), Bialystok Technical University (Poland), West University of Timisoara (Romania) i Polytechnic Institute of Viseu (Portugal). The event provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen collaboration, review project progress, and plan upcoming activities within the framework of MAESTRO.

One of the main elements of the training was an analysis of the differences in traditional and technology-enhanced learning. Pre-tests and post-tests were prepared for groups of students learning in the traditional way. The data collected was analysed by the project partners in order to draw conclusions about the effectiveness of different teaching methods.

During the training, special attention was paid to understanding how students formulate questions and use tools such as AI ChatGPT. Directions were given for creating examples in textbooks and other teaching materials.
The participation of staff from the Faculty of Computer Science in such meetings contributes to the development of modern teaching methods and the improvement of teaching materials. Thanks to the international cooperation within the Maestro AI project, it is possible to better understand how modern technologies support the educational process and to develop innovative solutions for students and teachers.

The hosting by the Technical University of Crete, located in the beautiful city of Chania, created a productive environment for discussions, workshops, and networking among the consortium members. This international gathering once again emphasized the importance of cross-border cooperation in advancing innovative approaches to education in mathematics and programming through AI.
