Exploring Generative AI in Higher Education: MAESTRO-AI Workshop at TUC
10-10-2025On October 1st 2025, an experimental workshop was conducted In Technical University of Crete within the MAESTRO-AI framework to explore the integration of generative AI in higher-education learning activities. Two distinct scenarios were implemented. The first applied the Role-Playing Prompt Pattern to support students in performing requirement analysis through simulated stakeholder interviews, helping them produce more structured software specification reports. The second scenario focused on AI-guided SQL laboratory exercise, where students worked with a Custom GPT trained to interpret instructor-designed lesson plans. The AI acted as a lab coach, guiding learners step-by-step through practice, and reflection. The workshop demonstrated the pedagogical potential of prompt-pattern design and lesson planning for creating structured, adaptive, and student-centered AI learning experiences.
